About Brightfix
What is Brightfix?
A Windows app that does what a careful computer technician does: check the PC, explain what is wrong in plain words, and fix it with a preview, a restore point and undo.
Is it really free?
Yes. Home is free with no time limit, and it fixes everything it finds. Plus adds automation and alerts, and Technician is for repair shops.
Will it speed up my PC?
It removes real causes of slowness: programs that start with Windows for no reason, a full drive, devices with driver problems, a screen set below its refresh rate. It never claims a speed it did not measure, and there is no “RAM booster”, because those do not help.
Does it update drivers?
Yes, carefully. Brightfix shows the driver and firmware updates Windows Update has for your PC, in plain words, and matches them to devices that are not working. You choose what to install. A restore point is made first, and a driver can be rolled back. Firmware updates get an extra warning because they cannot be undone. Brightfix never gets drivers from other websites and never installs them on its own.
Does it replace my antivirus?
No. It works alongside the antivirus you have, checks that protection is switched on, and can run a Microsoft Defender scan as a second opinion.
Which Windows versions?
Windows 11 and Windows 10 version 22H2 on 64-bit PCs. Windows 10 security updates end on October 12, 2027 for home users enrolled in extended updates, and Brightfix tells you where your PC stands.
Safety and privacy
Can it break my PC?
Every tool shows what it will change first. A System Restore point is made before changes, settings are backed up, and History and undo can put changes back. High risk actions ask a second time in plain words.
Does it delete my files?
Never. It only clears caches and temporary files that Windows and your programs rebuild. Documents, photos, downloads and OneDrive are off limits.
What does it send to you?
Nothing about you or your PC. The only time it goes online on its own is to check for updates, which shares your IP address and app version with the download server, like any website visit.
Someone called saying they are from Brightfix.
Hang up. Brightfix never calls anyone and never asks to connect to your PC. If someone installed a remote access program, Brightfix’s Scam Shield can show it to you.
Licenses and buying
How do I enter my license?
Open Brightfix, then Settings, Your license, Enter license, and paste the whole text from your email, including the first and last lines.
I lost my license email.
Email support@getbrightfix.com from the address you bought with and we will send it again.
I got a new PC.
Plus covers up to 5 PCs in your home, so just paste the same license on the new one.
Is there a subscription?
No. Plus and Technician are one-time payments with 12 months of updates.

Within 30 days, in full, by email. See the refund policy.
