History and undo
Lists every change Brightfix has made, with a report for each run, and puts things back when you choose Undo.
When to use it
- Something seems different after a fix and you want it back.
- You want to see what was done, and when.
How to use it
- Open Brightfix and go to History and undo, or use Undo last change under the menu.
- Open a run to see exactly what changed.
- Choose Undo to put it back.
What it changes
Undo puts back the settings a run changed.
What it never does
- Deleted temporary files and caches are not restored, because programs recreate them.
Undo
For bigger trouble, every run that changes something makes a System Restore point first.
Advanced details
- Logs: %ProgramData%\GSToolkit\Logs, with time, command, result and exit code for every action.
- Registry backups: %ProgramData%\GSToolkit\Backups, one folder per run.
Every action is logged with the time, the command, the result and the exit code.
