Update your programs
Checks which of your installed programs have a newer version and installs the ones you pick. Free in every edition.
When to use it
- Once a month, or when a program asks to update.
How to use it
- Save your work: updating a program closes it.
- Open Brightfix and go to Protect, then Update your programs.
- Tick the programs to update. Nothing is ticked for you.
- Answer the second question. Updating accepts each program's license terms for you.
What it changes
Installs newer versions of the programs you ticked.
What it never does
- Never updates a program you did not tick.
Undo
A program cannot be rolled back to its older version by Brightfix. A restore point is made first.
Advanced details
- Uses the Windows Package Manager (winget), verifying each installer's hash.
- Plus can do this on a schedule for the apps you choose. See the Plus page.
Every action is logged with the time, the command, the result and the exit code.
