Start menu or search not opening
For a Start menu or search box that will not open. Restarts them first, and can register them again for your account, which is Microsoft's own fix.
When to use it
- Clicking Start or search does nothing.
How to use it
- Open Brightfix and go to Fix a problem.
- Choose The Start menu or search does not open.
- Try the restart first. If that does not help, go ahead with registering them again.
What it changes
Restarts the Start menu and search, then if needed registers them again for your account.
What it never does
- Your files are not touched.
Undo
Nothing needs undoing. A restore point is made first.

- Restarts the Start menu and search processes, then re-registers those built in packages for the signed in account.
